PARK(ing) Day Calgary

PARK(ing) Day is an annual open-source global event where citizens, artists and designers collaborate to temporarily transform metered parking spaces into “PARK(ing)” spaces - temporary public spaces. The project aims to encourage critical thought and to spark our imaginations about how public spaces can be used. Come down and see what people have come up with!

We also invite you to be a part of the experience and transform an everyday parking stall into an experimental design to showcase the creative ways you think urban public space could be used. We encourage anyone to submit an application to participate, the deadline is August 24, 2018. Email your application form and submission requirements to kate.zago@calgary.ca

Park(ing) Stall Design Considerations
• Allotted space is 2.4 metres by 6 metres.
• Must be temporary.
• Installations should be sturdy and safe, and not interfere with traffic.
• Signage is limited to two posters, no larger than 11 by 17 inches in size, that serve the sole purpose of acknowledging the creators, funders or organizers of the PARK(ing) Day Installation

Submission Requirements
• Filled out application form
• Visual representation of the idea
