Honens 2018 Piano Competition and Festival
This summer, Honens brings the world’s finest emerging pianists to Calgary for an internationally renowned piano competition and ten days of extraordinary music-making. The Honens International Piano Competition awards the largest prize of its kind—$100,000 and an Artist Development Program valued at a half-million dollars.Ten pianists advance from the Quarterfinals in Berlin and New York to perform a solo recital and a collaborative concert with Phillip Addis (baritone) and Jonathan Crow (violin). Semifinals sessions include one of each recital and take place twice daily.
