Summerstock is the only live outdoor musical theatre company in all of Calgary. Each summer, students from all over Calgary present professional quality Broadway musical theatre in the downtown core at Olympic Plaza. This not-for-profit organization supports these young actors, provides scholarships and gives them a venue to showcase their talent.

Each summer, students from all over Calgary present professional quality Broadway musical theatre in the downtown core at Olympic Plaza. This not-for-profit organization supports these young actors, provides scholarships and gives them a venue to showcase their talent.
Summerstock is a city-wide musical theatre program for youth from 14-20 years of age that pairs professional design, instruction, and technical support with the raw talent of our city's young performers! This program is geared towards both the early career professional and the novice actor who is looking to do a professional quality show. Most of our students are in upper-high school, in their GAP year or in early post-secondary.

Shakespeare in the Park - A Midsummer Night's Dream

June 27th - August 10th (Showing Wednesday - Sunday)

Shakespeare in the Park will return to free public performances with a production of A Midsummer Night's Dream at Prince’s Island Park. Each year, the acting company will benefit from working with a professional director with experience working with Shakespeare. This year, the director will be Michael Shamata, the artistic director of Victoria’s Belfry Theatre, who is renowned for his outdoor productions of the Bard in Canada.

A Midsummer Night's Dream will run from June 27 – August 11, 2012. Showtimes (weather permitting) are Wednesdays – Sundays at 7:00pm, with added weekend matinees at 2:00pm (Note: June 30, July 1 only @ 7:00pm; No performances week of July 23). Admission is free. A Midsummer Night's Dream is suitable for all ages.

Critical Mass is an exhibition of recent sculpture by Ontario-based artist Shayne Dark, whose works exploit the tensions between the natural and the manmade with intriguing results.

Stephen Avenue Walk

NMC Street Sounds
